monday 10/6 - sunday 10/12

Last week was definitely a stressful one without much sleep, unfortunately, as we continued our endless venue replacement hunt. One of these days I will post all about that struggle.

On Saturday morning we grabbed my little sister and then headed to my moms place to celebrate the life of my grandma Norma with family. It was a really emotional day for everyone, but nice to see some of my aunts and uncles from California. My stepdad put together a really nice slideshow, and my aunt Debby created a book of her recipes that I am really excited to check out once the holidays roll around (especially the best sugar cookies ever). I promise promise promise I will be writing a post all about my grandma soon, I just haven't felt like I had enough time or a clear enough head to get through it yet, and I don't want to rush it. She deserves more recognition than that.

In the evening we met up with Pat's "little sister" downtown, and then stopped in Lompoc before calling it a night and heading to my dads place to sleep.

On Sunday we met up with Megan and her little sister for brunch at Slappy Cakes in Portland. I had been wanting to try that place for a long time, and it was so fun (and delicious)! We got a ton of ingredients, and ended up making both sweet and savory pancakes while playing with our food the entire time. Once we were done we said our goodbyes and drove my sister back to Corvallis where we checked out the house she is living in, before stopping by Block 15 (because we always have to) for a snack (and beer), and then checking out a newer brewery, Mazama, on the way out of town. We got home just as the sun went down and both passed out super early, exhausted from the quick weekend trip.

monday 6/9 - sunday 6/15

This week was definitely a busy and exciting one, though without any arson this time.

Me and Pat both had a short work week and then headed to Corvallis Thursday evening to visit some friends, take our annual day trip to Newport/Rogue, and for Hayden's graduation on Saturday. I still can't believe that brat is all gradumicated! Saturday night Hayden even convinced us to go out one last time and celebrate with him. That was interesting. I felt old, but didn't look it apparently, lucky me.

On Sunday I got to do brunch with my dad and some of my sisters for Father's Day since he was in town moving the little out of her apartment anyway. Then me, Pat and his parents helped Hayden move out of the 35th street house. It was kind of strange saying goodbye to that place one last time considering me, Pat, and a variety of roomies lived there for four years while I was in college. Although it hasn't felt much like ours for a long time since it is totally trashed now. Still lots of good parties, I mean memories there. :)

I am going to split the bulk of our day trip to Newport into its own post tomorrow so that this one isn't insanely long.

monday 3/24 - sunday 3/30

Last week ended up being a pretty eventful one involving most notably decorating my boss's office in honor of his first little one, and a very last minute trip to the valley which may have resulted in a new car...

We headed to rainy Salem Thursday night around 8 (it was kind of a last minute decision). We met Tony at F-Stop and then spent the night at his place. In the morning we both did a little work before driving an hour south to Eugene in the hopes that we would be leaving with a new ride. Mission accomplished, 6 hours and a test drive later. While we were there Pat told me I had to act like I wasn't that excited, so I doodled while he negotiated. Man I hate car shopping! (I will do a more detailed post about the car and all tomorrow).

Once we were off the lot we drove to Corvallis to meet up with some friends for dinner and then sleep over at Nate and Alicia's place. Saturday morning we played with their little baby girl Abby for a little while before grabbing a delicious breakfast in Albany. Shortly after we said goodbye and took our car over the pass for the first time to enjoy the little bit we had left of our weekend.

monday 10/21 - sunday 10/27

I was buried in guest packets/maps all week at work, but we had a really fun (although extremely quick) weekend in Corvallis/Bend.

Saturday morning me and Pat left for Corvallis to go to the football game against Stanford, hang out with some friends, and meet Abby for the first time. We grabbed Pats little brother Hayden, drove by my little sister's place so that I could check out her little apartment (pretty standard Sophomore digs) and meet her boyfriend, and then we headed over to Nate and Alicia's place for a pre-game BBQ. As you will notice from the baby pictures I posted, Pat is a natural, I on the other hand am terrified of infants. Toddlers and fine, babies that have some teeth and a few months under their belt are fine, but Abby, who was straight out of the oven (less than a month old) terrified me. Reluctantly I did hold the beautiful baby girl, and I think from my face you will gather that it was a anxiety ridden few minutes until I passed her off to more experienced hands. I can't wait to see her again in a few months when I can actually play with her. :)

Once we got to the game I found my little sister and decided to leave the rest of the group to go stand with her in the student section for the first half. I had a lot of fun cheering and chatting with my little (who I still can't believe is in college). This part was definitely the highlight of my weekend. After half time her and her friends went off to get ready for some Halloween festivities, and I made my way back to the group.

On Sunday me and Pat had to take off early to meet up with our friend Rory who had driven home from his firefighting rotation in Yosemite National Park the night before, and was staying at our place. We got in around noon and caught up with him for the rest of the weekend. Needless to say, I was a little tired on Monday.

monday 9/2 - sunday 9/8

Last week we got keys to our new place and started cleaning and exploring. Most of our after work hours were spent there in fact, so I don't have too many great weekly photos to post. However, on the weekend we headed for Corvallis to watch the OSU vs. Hawaii game which was a TON of fun! We even got to play a round of beer pong in our old place with our old roomate Adam and some of his friends. It was great meeting up with everyone and I am looking forward to the next home game we will be attending (Stanford or USC, not sure which one is first). As usual we had to hit up Block15 before we skipped town, and I even talked everyone to heading over to my favorite gelato place for dessert. Oh yea, and Go Beavs!
