Last Saturday me and Pat surprised my friends from college in Portland for Colleen's Halloween Party. We drank, we danced, we ended up at Grilled Cheese Grill at the end of the night... it was like old times. Here are some pics!

my week in pictures 76
monday 10/27 - sunday 11/2
Last week was an awesome one! On Tuesday me and Pat went to look at yet another potential wedding venue... and guess what? We finally found a new one! (More on that in another post). Other than that, during the week I worked on out costumes, and enjoyed some crisp fall weather.
Friday night Pat decided to decorate the house, grab some candy, and hand it out to trick-or-treaters again, and then we wandered through the neighborhood a little bit to check out other people's set ups before watching some Halloween favorites.
On Saturday we slept in, packed our stuff, and then headed to Portland to surprise our friends at their party. After our foggy/rainy drive we met up with Brad, Alia, and their baby girl Henley for some dinner at Che, and then checked in to our hotel to get ready. The party itself felt like college again, and I loved surprising everyone! I have a lot more pictures which I will throw up here tomorrow.
Sunday morning we headed to Alberta to grab breakfast at Pine State Biscuits with Tony and Alex before making a quick stop at the Nike Employee store, and then heading back over the pass for home. Another super short trip (which seems like all we have time for these days), but it was well worth it.

nye 2014 photobooth
For New Year's Eve this year we had some friends coming in to town, but were not 100% sure of our plans before they arrived, so we were unable to get a dinner reservation. No problem, we decided to make a fancy dinner at home and drink some champagne before heading downtown instead. Since I wanted to make sure that we had a decent amount of NYE festiveness for dinner, I created a photobooth out of some materials we had laying around the house.
Lucky for me the curtains that we hung in our living room lent themselves very well as a backdrop. To spruce things up a bit I grabbed an extra strand of Christmas lights, repurposed an old sparkly party banner (removing the words "Keep Calm And" because I am SUPER sick of that whole thing) so that it just read "Party On", hung some unused sparkly gold ornaments on the strings, and threw up some gold tinsel. Viola! I think it turned out pretty damn good considering I "built" it on the fly by myself while the others were out running some errands.
(I thought the flash washed the pretty background out too much, so the colors are a little off, but I think these still turned out pretty good/silly).

my week in pictures 37
monday 12/30 - sunday 1/5
I am going to keep this short. A little work. New Year's Eve festivities (dinner at our place, countdown at McMenamins). New Year's Day recovery. Back to work. Late Christmas with Pat's dad on the weekend (which involved drinking and playing with a toy train for some reason). As you can see, the majority of my pictures are from NYE.
I will be posting the real photobooth pictures Friday.
